Joseph Louis Mauser was born on February 28, 1948 to Alphonse Mauser and Mary Codarmaz in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

 

Joe has a twin brother, John, who is ten minutes older than him.

 

First Holy Communion for John and Joseph Mauser was on April 24, 1955. It was also Marie Bozic’s first communion. The Mausers lived on 1119 N. Sharon Avenue and the Bozics on 1901 N. Sharon Avenue. Their confirmation was on April 24, 1956 by Rev. Paul C. Schulte. Joseph Louis Mauser’s confirmation name was Thomas. His sponsor was Herbert Codarmaz. John Martin Mauser’s confirmation name was Donald and his sponsor was Donald (Donnie) Bozic. Marie Ann Bozic’s confirmation name was Theresa. Her sponsor was Martina Dawnorowicz.

 

Joe attended Holy Trinity Grade School in Indianapolis. He graduated from Cathedral in 1966. He then went to Allison Transmission. Later he joined the Air Force with his twin brother, John. He served in Africa, Korea, and other locations around the world. After the Air Force Joe returned to Allison Transmission and he has worked there ever since (35 years).

 

Joe married Mary Elizabeth Stanich (Stanič) on July 6, 1974. Mary was born on November 17, 1951.

 

Mary graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1969. A lot of the Mauser family and Stanich family attended St. Mary’s. A few years after Mary graduated, St. Mary’s closed. Mary has many good memories of St. Mary’s. Sister Barbara ran the best kitchen. All kids loved her French fries.

 

After graduation Mary worked at Jefferson National Life Insurance as a clerk. After a year Mary knew she wanted to do something else. She started IUPUI while working at Jefferson National. She worked full time and went to school in the evenings. She quit work and did her last year as a student. By then Mary was already married. Mary graduated in June, 1976.

 

Mary is now (2005) employed as a teacher in Pike Township. Mary is going on her 28th year of teaching.

 

Joe and Mary have two twin daughters:

 

  1. Megan Karolina Mauser (September 2, 1985)
  2. Emily Ann Mauser (September 2, 1985)
