Carl Ferdinand Mauser (Nov 13, 1916 - Dec 8, 2005)

Carl Ferdinand Mauser was born on November 13, 1916 in Indianapolis to the family of Martin Mauser and Josephine Mervar.

 

He was baptized on December 3, 1916 at Holy Trinity by Rev. Fr. Cyrillus. Joseph and Maria Mervar were Carl’s godparents. At that time of his birth the family lived on 960 Haugh Street, Indianapolis.

 

Carl’s first communion took place on May 4, 1924. His confirmation was on Sunday, June 15, 1924. Confirmation name: Anthony. Sponsor: Anthony Mervar.

 

Carl married Margaret Tuttleton on July 26, 1947. The ceremony took place in the Holy Trinity Rectory and not the church since the Carl and his wife were from mixed religions. Fr. Edw. Bockhold performed the ceremony. Louis Luzar and Theresa Mervar were present as witnesses. Carl and Margaret soon divorced and had no children.

 

Carl lived with his sister, Martina, and her husband, Tony Dawnorowicz, most of his adult life.

 

In May of 1979 Carl married Mary Steele.

 

Carl died on December 8, 2005 at 10 AM in Indianapolis.
